Terry Spence hearts lobbyists...and Beauty and the Beast?

The story in today's News-Journal about how Republican Speaker Terry Spence is a lobbyist's best friend (House speaker takes the most from lobbyists) is not news to anyone.

If you want premier tickets to Phillies games, Disney on Ice or a NASCAR race, you'd better be prepared to dig deep into your pocket -- if those choice seats are even available.

Terry Spence, Delaware's speaker of the House, doesn't have to worry about the price. His friends in the Delaware lobbying industry pay his way.

When the Phillies opened their season the past two years, Spence enjoyed the game and a meal from a box seat at Citizens Bank Park.

During the 4 1/2-year period that ended in June, the New Castle-area Republican took $33,537 in gifts, nearly three times more than any other lawmaker, The News Journal found while reviewing Delaware's lobbying database...
By far, Spence accepts more of the lobbyists' largesse than any other elected official in Delaware.

Terry Spence literally admitted to buying votes. We know he's been going around telling people he's not running again. For his sake, let's hope he's telling the truth...
